About

Mubashir Malik is a London-based Banker &  British Author of the best selling book “Double Standards”.

The book examines the behavioural changes in financial regulation and the measures adopted to combat financial crime over the past two decades, whilst revisiting recent banking scandals to compare treatments by the authorities. A key focus was to analyse the regulatory lapses and problems surrounding the closure of BCCI (Bank of Credit & Commerce International) in 1991 and to see how regulation & financial crime has evolved ever since.

Mubashir works within Investment Banking  and gives public talks in forums across globally, including Universities like the London School of Economics (LSE), as a guest at the World Economic Forum in Davos – Switzerland as part of an Abu Dhabi delegation as well as being invited to speak onto BBC World News, Al Jazeera, CNBC and other news channels. After working for firms like Saudi Aramco, he travels extensively delivering training on Financial Crime Compliance and Management to banks and financial institutions like HSBC.

A great quote by Martin Luther King Jr sums this blog up nicely: “The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.”

I am working on a women leadership program in Pakistan and good to see that seasoned male professionals like you support such causes. Look forward to reading your blogs and please do share your views on women empowerment initiatives that you have chaired or moderated.
